Here is a list of herbal foods used in our products.  We feel that each home should have a cabinet with herbal teas and tonics for use when you need them.  There are an infinite amount of herbal foods available to us, so this list concentrates purely on those herbals foods that are alkaline and very beneficial to people with BROWN EYES.

1.  Black Walnut. 

Black Walnut is an herbal food that has been used extensively to combat problems with candida and parasites which both can stop our bodies from receiving even the best of nutrition. Black Walnut hulls contain juglone, a chemical that is antibacterial, antiviral, antiparasitic, and a fungicide.  It can be used topically and internally.  It is packed with minerals, oxygenates the blood and gives back to the body as it expels unwanted bugs.  It does have a laxative effect and should not be used for more than two weeks at a time and discontinued if unwanted side effects occur.

This food is found in our Core Tonic.

 

2.  Bladderwrack. 

Bladderwrack (Fucus Vesiculosus) is a type of seaweed herbal food called kelp.  It has been known to boost the metabolism and combat both obesity and cellulite.  Packed with minerals, it can mineralise the bones, teeth, nerves and muscles.  It does have a large iodine concentration, so it is not the best food to use if you have been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism or are currently taking medications for thyroid conditions.  As always, consult your physician if this applies to you to see how this food may affect your health outcome.

3.  Blessed Thistle. 

Blessed Thistle is a bitter herbal food is known for its high iron content.  It has been used traditionally to increase circulation and oxygen to the body, particularly to the brain, heart and lung.  An increase in oxygen usually means an increase in energy and good health.  Another benefit to taking bitter herbal foods is also their positive affects on digestion and appetite.

4.  Blue Vervain.

Blue Vervain is a bitter herbal food that is known for its calming effect on the nervous system and its ability to decrease congestion in the body, especially in the respiratory system. It has also been used for joint pain and headaches especially when related to stress and nervous anxiety.

This food can be found in our Sleep Tonic as well as our Veda Tea.

 

5.  Burdock Root.

Burdock is well known herbal food for herbalists all over the world.  It is known for its blood and skin purifying effects.  It promotes elimination of toxins through the kidney and the skin by increasing urination and perspiration.

6.  Cascara Sagrada.

Cascara Sagrada is an herbal food that has a laxative effect.  It is known to stimulate and tone the intestines helping to remove hard to reach waste deposits.  As a warning, cascara should be used with caution for those who suffer with diarrhea or abdominal pains as it may increase these symptoms and cause health issues.  It is not meant for long-term use.

7.  Chamomile Flowers.

ChamomiLe is an herbal food that is well known for its calmative and relaxing effects on the nervous system.  It can calm inflammation and anxiety.  It can be added to any home apothecary when relaxation is needed.  It's anti-inflammatory properties makes it perfect for a hot or cold compress for tired eyes.

8.  ChaparraL.

Chaparral is an herbal food that is mostly known for its anti-microbial properties making it a natural antibiotic, anti-fungal and anti-parasite.  It is also used to combat respiratory ailments and is a wonderful herbal food to keep at your home.

9.  Damiana

Damiana is an herbal food that is known as an "ancient aphrodisiac" because it calms, it energizes and it promotes blood movement to the the male and female genitalia.  It is known to balance the sex hormones of estrogen and testosterone, and increase sexual desire.

10.  Dandelion Root

Dandelion roots are an herbal food that has many known benefits.  The tree is rich in calcium making it an ideal food for bone and muscle health.  It's alkalinic properties increase urine output and may also decrease swelling.  It is a great herb to add to your home and diet because of its positive effects on the liver, the kidney and digestion.  The leaves of dandelion can be used in a salad, soup or teas and the roots are an excellent nutritive coffee substitute.

11. Elder Berry

Elder Berry is an herbal food that makes a beautifully tasting syrup and tea.  It has been known to have immune boosting properties and can be used for respiratory ailments, pain and fatigue.

12.  Eucalyptus Essential Oil

Essential Oils are a potent form of an herbal food extracted from a plant or a tree.  Eucalyptus oil contains one of the highest concentrations of a substance called cineole  which is a powerful anti-inflammatory agent.  For this reason, when applied topically or in a bath with coconut oil, it can reduce inflammation,  reduce pain and increase respiratory circulation.  It also has anti-microbial properties so it can be used to prevent infection of wounds and cuts.  For detox purposes, eucalyptus oil can be used in a warm bath to open the pores and aid the skin in eliminating toxins. 

 

According to research, other essential oils that contain cineole are cannabis, cardamom, ginger, helichrysum, peppermint, rosemary and tea tree. 

 

13.  Hydrangea

Hydrangea is an herbal food that contains a substance called hydrangin.  This substance is known for its ability to dissolve calcium deposits in soft tissue.  It can be particularly helpful to the kidney, bladder and any area that is prone to calcified, stone build-up.

14.  Irish Sea Moss

Irish Sea Moss is an herbal food that is found in the sea in the form of seaweed.  It contains a very high mineral content and is nourishing to every cell in the body.  It can be effective in removing mucous from the body and can be used to nourish the skin when used topically.  Women have bragged on its anti-aging effect and its weight management properties.  It can be used daily as a skin mask by combining the powder with any natural oil such as coconut, olive, grapeseed or avocado.  Watch your skin glow!

15.  Linden Flower

The linden flower is an herbal food that has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and diuretic properties.  It helps to rid the body of mucous.

Milk thistle is an herbal food that is largely known for its positive effect on the liver.  It is the #1 recommended herb for liver health from doctor's and herbalists all over the world.

17.  Mullein

Mullein is a gentle herbal food that has been used for many centuries.  It is known to have a great affinity for the upper respiratory system and the lymphatic system making it a must have herb for your home apothecary.   The lymphatic system is the body's sewer system.  It carries a white blood cells in a fluid called the lymph  This fluid circulates throughout the entire body filtering and ridding the body of wastes.  Strengthening the body's lymphatic system boosts the body's ability to fight infection and stay healthy.

18.  Nettle Root

Nettle root is an herbal food that is very nutritive especially to the entire urinary system including the  prostate for men.  It is used in Germany as an herbal remedy for prostate disease and as a diuretic.  Historically it has been used to treat joint pain and even has been used to combat baldness.

This herbal food is used in our For Him Tea for its positive affects on the male body.

 

19.  Oregano Leaf

Oregano leaf is an herbal food that contains a substance called carvacrol and rosmarinic acid which are both natural decongestants and anti-histamine.  It is known to be fungus and candida fighting so it can be very useful anytime an infection is involved.  We use it as a tea, but the essential oil is priceless.  It can be used both internally and topically for just about any skin irritation. 

We use this herbal food in our Veda Tea.

 

20.  Red Clover

Red Clover is an herbal food that is a powerful healing agent.  It is as good when used topically as it is when ingested in a tea or tonic.  It contains salycylic acid (aspirin) which is used to relive eczema.  It can be used topically for most skin conditions and internally.  It is a powerful blood cleanser and a blood thinner.  Therefore. one of the warnings when using this herb is not to combine with the use of blood thinners or take before undergoing surgery.

21  Red Raspberry Leaf

Red Raspberry is an herbal food that is known for its benefits for women in all stages of life.  It is high in magnesium, potassium and iron making a mineral rich herbal food than can help relax muscles and improve sleep.  It has been known to be effective for the female reproductive system including the uterus, ovaries and pelvic region.

We use this herbal food in our BuiLd Tonic for its iron rich potential

 

22.  Sarsaparilla

Sarsaparilla is an herbal food that comes from Mexico, Jamaica and India.  It has been known to bind with toxins in the body in order to move them out of the blood and out of the body.  It has been known to nourishing to the skin and the joints.  It has the highest amount of iron of any plant.

23.  Wild Cherry Bark

Wild Cherry Bark is an herbal food that is known for its calming effect on the respiratory system.  It can be found in many commercially used cough syrup because of its calmative effects on the lungs and all of the mucous membranes.  There are some warnings involving very high doses of wild cherry bark, but it has been proven to be very safe and very effective in small doses.

24.  Yellowdock

Yellowdock herbal food has been known for its blood cleansing potential.  It is used by herbalists to strengthen the liver by stimulating bile production helping with the digestion of fats.  It can also stimulate removal of wastes from the intestines and the kidney which assists in the body's elimination of toxins that may otherwise accumulate in the liver, gallbladder and blood.
